“It takes more than just an athlete to accomplish greatness. It takes a whole team. With Kästle I have found a partner for my squad, who is just as determined to reach new heights as I am.”
In 2011, when he was only 11 years old, Tormis’ family decided to move to Tyrol„temporarily for 10 months“ so that he and his sister could learn German and skiing. But as his skiing started to improve rapidly, they decided to stay for another year. After that year, they agreed to stay for another one and so on and on. Fast forward to the present, Tormis and his family have already lived 9 years and counting in Götzens, Tyrol.
In 2015, Tormis was given the opportunity to take his talent to the most famous and successful ski school in the world, Skigymnasium Stams, where he also graduated from back in 2019. He represented Estonia at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, where he placed 40th at the Men's Giant Slalom. After 4 seasons and 26 podiums in FIS and lower category races, it's finally time for Tormis to get a taste of the FIS World Cup Circuit in the 2020/2021 season.
