Due to the uncertain situation around cinema visits and border crossings, the Freeride Filmfestival cannot take place as usual. Therefore the FFF 2020 will come to your living room: on 17.12.2020 a high-class online event with star guests will take place in Innsbruck and you can stream it live. The moderation and presentation will take place in German and English. In addition to the five great national and international films, protagonists from these productions will also be at the start - in compliance with all required corona measures, of course. In addition, there are sensational prizes to be won from the FFF partners. The ticket costs EUR 9,- and the stream is available until 31.12.

The corona situation forces the organizers of the Freeride Filmfestival to go new ways. Whereby the setting in a state-of-the-art TV studio with four cameras makes dreams come true for Harry Putz: "Of course, the live atmosphere in a full cinema hall cannot be topped. But I have always wished to present FFF with all the technical production possibilities of a studio". This wish is now coming true and much more, because the live stream will be presented in two languages. Harry Putz is responsible for the presentation in German and the New Zealand freeskier Neil Williman for those in English.

It is exactly this added value for the worldwide freeride community that the second FFF organizer Volker Hölzl underlines: "All films are either in English or have English subtitles. In this way, we also make it possible for fans outside the German-speaking countries to become an immediate part of the festival. To underline the authenticity of the online event, we welcome studio guests and make live broadcasts of protagonists who cannot come to Innsbruck personally". After all, the FFF 2020 has more international productions than ever before: in addition to the German-Austrian-Swiss region, there will also be an Icelandic and Norwegian contribution (for details on the program and the films, see below).

Those who want to be present at the Freeride Filmfestival 2020 can obtain an individual access code for the live stream on the ticketing platform in advance. The tickets cost 9 Euros and are also valid for watching the event after the live-stream. Another bonus is a specially produced version of the entire streaming evening. Details on ticket sales, program and the drawing of the FFF partners' great prizes can be found below and on the FFF-website: Furthermore, the festival will be accompanied on all social media channels under the hashtag #offpisteonline.

POW Film Award

Another premiere at this online event is the POW Film Award, which is presented in cooperation with Protect our Winters Europe. The prize, which is worth €1,000, is offered by the FFF and is aimed at freeride films that provide explicit proof of active climate-conscious action without pointing the finger at others. Another important criterion is that no machine-driven ascent aids are used at all. In addition to the prize money, the winning production will receive a trophy made by an artist and the "FFF+POW Film Award Laurel".

The programm – shred@home & film@home

The film selection of the FFF 2020 is more international than ever before and at the same time locally anchored. FFF organizer Harry Putz is enthusiastic about the mix and themes of the selected films. "The productions are not only united by the slogan 'shred@home & film@home', but they also show a wide range of cinematic and creative realizations: from stylish ambience and atmosphere films to the psychological hardcore strain in the mountains at the beginning of the corona lockdown to slapstick and a complete solo project. What Putz is also very proud of: "The fact that we are using it to further our 'Freeride for Future' initiative, which we launched last year. In this way we want to promote a change in awareness and a responsible approach to natural habitats.
