"For me, ski mountaineering is the perfect combination of endurance and action sports: fighting your way uphill, pushing yourself to the limit, racing down challenging descents, preferably with fresh powder, in the midst of the mountains, often with a gigantic panoramic view. At the skimo races I love the adrenalin I feel before starting. I push myself with rocking music and just give it my all."
Tatjana Paller grew up in the Alps, has always loved the mountains and has been skiing a lot as a child. In her youth she discovered road/track cycling and was a member of the national team for 7 years. The last years she spent mainly on the racing bike in Mallorca or worldwide at competitions. As a sports soldier she used this time to the fullest and was able to collect a European Championship title and several German Championship titles. Nevertheless, she missed the winter, the mountains, the snow and skiing and was always looking for opportunities to incorporate ski touring into her training.
In winter 19/20 she decided to start in the Skimo Alpencup series and surprised with a victory at the Jennerstier race. Further victories and podium places followed, leading to her direct acceptance into the national team. It was obvious for her: She will end her career in cycling and put everything on winter sports. Her goals for the 20/21 season are a German championship title, first experiences in the World Cup (with a top ten finish) and a medal at the Military World Games in Berchtesgaden. When she is not training, she enjoys her time with family and friends, studies sports and business, likes to travel and listens to a lot of music.
