Traditional Austrian ski manufacturer, Kästle, has signed a two-year deal to supply the Czech Biathlon Union with equipment for the next two seasons, and the first few young recruits have already signed up.
Over the past few years, Kästle has provided support for talented young Czech biathletes at its Nordic centre of excellence at Nové Město na Moravě, in the Czech Republic. The Youth Olympic Winter Games 2020 already saw Luděk Abrahám secure a promising 9th place finish in Sprint on his Kästle skis.
Kästle’s professional commitment and the favourable equipment tests by the Union service staff over the last few months were decisive factors for escalating the collaboration with the Czech Biathlon Union. “We are really happy about the collaboration and look forward to working very closely together with the CBU service team”, says Martin Petrásek, head of Kästle’s Nordic Race Department. And there’s more good news for Petrásek with the signing of Josef Kabrda onto the Kästle team, another young Czech athlete.
CBU representative, Michal Šlesinger, sees the huge potential this collaboration brings: “We now have the opportunity to use our knowledge in the production of racing skis and develop even better skis for our athletes”, says an enthusiastic Šlesinger.
