BIO

Mialitiana “Mia” Clerc was born in Madagascar and adopted by a French couple when she was a year old. As she started skiing at the age of 3, she learnt the basics of winter sports quite early. Since then, she came a long way and already competed in many races all over the world like in France, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, South Africa, Argentina, Chile and South Korea.

At only 16 years old she took part in her first Olympic Games in Pyeongchang (2018), where she was the youngest flag bearer Madagascar has ever had at an Olympic opening ceremony and the first Malagasy woman to ever take part at the Winter Olympic Games. One year later, she became the first African to ever qualify for a second run at the World Championship in Giant Slalom and Slalom in Are.
