Troy Martel

BIO

Troy is a biathlete based out of Canmore and a member of the "Biathlon Alberta Training Centre" since 2020. He started biathlon through the Canadian Army Cadet program and quickly fell in love with the sport. He then started training full time in 2018 in hopes to one day represent Canada on the international stage. Since then Troy has gone on to win medals at provincial, national and continental championships as racing at the Canada Winter Games and at long last, in 2022 was given the opportunity to race for Team Canada on the IBU Cup!

Outside of biathlon, Troy loves the outdoors and engages in rock and ice climbing, mountaineering and ski touring. After Troy retires from ski racing he would like to pursue a career in Search and Rescue.
