“IT’S IMPORTANT TO ME TO KEEP THINGS VARIED IN THE MOUNTAINS, BUT I ALSO NEED ONE PAIR OF PLANKS THAT CAN HANDLE ANYTHING – FROM PISTE THROUGH TO POWDER. THAT’S WHY THE KÄSTLE TX65 HP IS MY WEAPON OF CHOICE WHETHER IT’S A WORLD CUP RACE OR SKINNING WITH A BUNCH OF FRIENDS.”

BIO

The young Berchtesgaden local has big plans. Stefan Knopf has set himself the goal of a minimum of one top-five placement in the under-23 class and to transition into the men’s class. He is already on the German National Ski Mountaineering team and as an employee of the Bavarian Police Force, can devote himself to the sport alongside his training. Born into a very sporty family Stefan started skiing at the age of three.

It was not long before he took up running, and following a short break in his teens, began mountain running. Spurred on by several wins, he was spotted by the National Ski Mountaineering team. His motto: “Let’s go. Up out of bed and into the mountains!” Although, now and again, the 21-year-old can be found lounging on the sofa enjoying a slice of his grandma’s homemade cake.
